On December 4, 1977, SAVVAS ANASTASIADIS was declared the winner of the FIRST Greek Free Game BILLIARDS Championship with an impressive 52.0 General average!
KOSTAS DEMERTZIS from Thessaloniki finished in second place and DIMITRIS HIMARAS, a Greek who grew up in Germany, came in third !

*The announcement of the start of the 2nd GREEK Free Game BILLIARD
Championship came 28 months later..
On March 20, 1980.

ΠΑΝΟΡΜΟΥ και ΑΧΑΙΑΣ 60, σχεδόν μισό αιώνα πριν..
Εκεί πού κτυπούσε η καρδιά τού Ελληνικού Μπιλιάρδου!

* In the last days of November 1977, the historic, first Greek Free Game BILLIARDS Championship was only three matches away from its end..

* SAVVAS ANASTASIADIS, who, thanks to his technique and finesse, magnetized the crowds, had almost secured a place in the final..

* As for his potential opponent in the final, although the German-raised DIMITRIS HIMARAS seemed to be the most consistent player up until that point, the odds began to smile on the “tough” KOSTAS DEMERTZIS from THESALONIKI, who had the best overall performance..

* Unknown to the Greeks, Nikolaos Chryssolouris was building his Billiard career in Switzerland..
